The Mindful Learning Space

Logical Thinking - Lets Mess with Logic!

This class is all about stretching, and flexing logical thinking muscles of youngsters as they learn, prove, review, apply, & mess with logic principles, theorems (laws) & algorithms across domains. Students learn  and engage in solving logic conditionals with truth tables, Demorgan’s laws, logical fallacies, detecting flaws in  algorithm logic, analyzing mystery stories, codes, and cryptograms, induction & deduction proofs, and more in this fun & interactive brain gym.

Course Details

Students rotate through many logic analysis, and solving exercises in each class during a session, while engaging with new problems and exercises every session. Youngsters participate in a variety of interactive logic challenges in groups and individually – collaborating, challenging, and inspiring each other, in problem solving.

Develop & strengthen logical thinking and reasoning skills through practice.

Develop multifaceted thinking acumen by engaging with a variety of logic problems – spanning mathematical proofs, boolean algebra, logic fallacies, compute algorithms, and more

Enrich and augment creativity, meta cognition, and critical thinking abilities of youngsters as they develop fluency with logic.

Foster positive interactions, brainstorming, and collaboration among peers

Boost youngsters’ enthusiasm, and intrinsic motivation towards learning, and problem solving through fun & challenging, interactive exercises.

Students are continuously learning, interacting, collaborating, challenging, & inspiring each other, as they mess with logic in various ways. In each class they learn or review a new logical thinking strategy, or method, & review examples, and engage in individual, and group based incrementally challenging exercises.

Students learn logic fallacies, DeMorgan’s laws, induction and deduction proofs in math, develop and debug logical algorithms, truth tables and boolean algebra in the context of logical thinking and solve relevant practice exercises in class.

Youngsters greatly benefit from the deep & broad exposure to the logical thinking problem space in this course. They largely draw from subject concepts, previously learnt methods, & practice exercises, and engage in solving newer & harder problems with enthusiasm. Students are pleasantly surprised by their developing ability to dig deep, infer, and solve complex logic problems across domains, during the session.

Our teachers are highly qualified, well trained, and experienced, subject matter experts, with exceptional ability to interact, and engage young students online

55 minutes per class once or twice a week, and an estimated 30 minutes to 2 hour per week outside of class for home work

Students are provided a variety of review problems and are encouraged to reinforce  their learning, and strengthen their skills with practice. Homework is optional, however students are welcome to post their work, and reach out to the instructor for questions/clarifications.

Rough notebook or paper, pens & other stationary. Students will be notified ahead of class when additional items are needed for class activity

Reference material, and external resource information will be provided & updated regularly to reinforce learning with ongoing practice

Formative assessment  based on student’s participation, level of engagement & interaction, and the quality of their work in class, and homework is provided at the end of the session, so students can further their strengths, while working on areas that need practice.

FAQ

This is an interactive, instructor led small group online class that will be conducted over a zoom session. Students are given many opportunities to share, and interact with peers, and teachers in class. Each student is given individual attention when needed to ensure that every child grasps the concepts, and participates actively in class.

We engage students in meaningful and incrementally challenging problems across the domain. All students benefit from our differentiable learning exercises, highly interactive, and collaborative problem solving challenges, and the deep and broad exposure to learning & application of logical thinking across domains.

The activities and exercises during the first class are largely geared towards understanding students’ thinking abilities, perspective, approach, & prior knowledge. They also build rapport among students, and between each student & instructor. It is very essential for all students to attend the first class of each session.

Yes, a summary of the concepts taught, and exercises practiced in  class, will be provided for students/parents to review through email, WhatsApp & the course reference page.

The Mindful Learning Space is a  big believer in continuous learning, practice, and nurtures lifelong habits, to this extent we make the practice exercises & course resources available to students for further practice & reference

Please refer to the overall cancellation policy on the main FAQ page. A make up class is offered in exceptional cases, when the instructor is unable to conduct a scheduled class.
